On March 5th, West Coast Fertility Center had the pleasure of meeting our Frozen Egg Babies #49 and #50 as the proud Mom and Dad stopped by our office and introduced us to their beautiful twin baby girls.  The girls are now four months old and have been such a joy to their parents.

In April 2009, this patient underwent a cycle of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with the use of frozen donor eggs.  This couple used our online database to search for a donor of their liking.  Once the donor was selected, the donor eggs were thawed and prepared for insemination.  Using ICSI, the eggs were inseminated just as they would be in a traditional IVF cycle with fresh donor eggs.  The eggs were fertilized and cultured for three days prior to the patient's embryo transfer.  The Frozen Egg Bank has an astounding 91% egg thaw survival rate and a 53% pregnancy rate which is very similar to our pregnancy rate for traditional IVF.

This marks a big day for West Coast Fertility Center in Orange County, California, as we reached the birth of our 49th and 50th babies born from Frozen Eggs and ICSI. WCFC is an affiliate of Frozen Egg Bank, Inc which developed the Landa Freezing Technology, offering hope to many infertile couples. This technology has resulted in the birth of 52 healthy babies born to wonderful families longing for their beautiful children. Worldwide only about 500 babies have been born from egg freezing.

Greeting the special visitors, Dr. David Diaz and his staff were delighted to hug and hold the two special little miracles as they smiled and gurgled while photos were snapped. Dr. Diaz commented that the parents are “true pioneers in the field of infertility” for making the decision to utilize the new technology.

We wish Mom, Dad, and the girls all the best and look forward to keeping in touch with them as the girls continue to grow.

Letter from Grandma

To Frozen Egg Bank from one Delighted Grandma

Cryo-canes

West Coast Fertility Centers (associated with the Frozen Egg Bank, Inc.) recently received an email from the grandmother (and also former patient) of newborn twins from the Frozen Egg Bank. The proud grandmother   had this to say:

"Dear Wonderful Office Staff of Dr. Diaz. My stepdaughter has given birth to healthy twin boys.  After much family encouragement and family support, she chose to participate in your frozen donor egg program.  We all know that these births occurred as a direct result of the incredible teamwork of your staff, our family and the pioneer of this specialized frozen egg donor program by Dr. Diaz. We now have a beautiful addition to our family.

You may remember that I came to West Coast Fertility Centers in the winter of 1993 to achieve a pregnancy of my own.  There I was with one failed IVF attempt trying to use my own eggs at 40 years old. After much trepidation, we went forward with Dr. Diaz’ fresh donor program.  Who ever heard of frozen eggs back then? They didn’t exist! After the first attempt, I was pregnant. Our daughter came into our lives, and is now a freshman in high school."

It’s amazing how far our technology has come in order to have a Frozen Egg Bank. We were able to offer exciting new technology to this patient, something that was unheard of when her stepmother was seeking fertility help just 16 years ago. Since then, our scientists have perfected the art of egg freezing and are happy to offer this very new service. Through the use of the Frozen Egg Bank we were able to help this family in the addition of two healthy baby boys. Congratulations to the family and their newfound happiness.

47 Births: Three Sets of Frozen Egg Twins

2 Little Miracles

The Frozen Egg Bank, associated with West Coast Fertility Centers, is proud to announce the birth of our 47th baby. The most recent additions are from the births of three sets of healthy twins delivered over the past month. One set of boys; one set of girls and a boy/girl set of twins were born to three sets of happy parents.  All three parents came to the Frozen Egg Bank with high hopes of fulfilling their dreams of starting a family. Unable to use their own eggs, the couples began to look into using donor eggs.

There are many benefits to choosing frozen donor eggs versus using a fresh donor cycle.  It can be very difficult to coordinate the donor's and the recipient's cycles due to donor non-compliance with FDA regulations; donor medications errors; problems with donor's travel arrangements; donor demands for excessive payment or unexpected cancellation of the cycle by the donor. The entire cost of this process is relayed to the recipient of the donated eggs.  This innovation in egg freezing technology, dramatically improves the efficiency of the egg donation process thus minimizing the cost for the intended parents.

With the convenience of using a Frozen Egg Bank, the couples were able to use our online database to select an egg donor that met their criteria.  You have the ability to search for a donor based on hair and eye color, race/ethnic background as well as view the detailed profile of each donor. The Frozen Egg Bank database offers a wide selection of donors and you can rest assured we have one just for you.  Our frozen eggs are harvested at anyone of our affiliated centers based in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Tennessee, New Jersey and New York. By using this website, our newest parents selected an egg donor and are now on the greatest journey of their lives.

The moms are doing beautifully and are so thankful for their little sets of miracles.  Congratulations to the new Moms and Dads, we wish you the best of luck!

"We cannot begin to express the gratitude we feel for helping make our dream come true to having a family. Your dedication speaks volumes in your work!"
