Congratulations to The Fertility Center of Chattanooga for achieving the very first pregnancy in the area from frozen eggs using the proprietary Landa Freezing Method developed at Frozen Egg Bank.

As featured on our blog story in April 2010, we announced The Fertility Center of Chattanooga as our affiliate in Tennessee. Susan Walker, Senior Embryologist at Chattanooga came to train with our team of scientists. During her visit, Susan learned the art of using the Landa Freezing Technology which has yielded very promising results in the preservation and thawing of human eggs.

The Landa Freezing Technology was developed and perfected by David Diaz, MD, FACOG and Antoine La, TS, ELD, EMB to improve the birth rates following egg freezing. Since 2005, we have celebrated the birth of 64 healthy babies from frozen eggs, more than any other program in the United States.

“The physicians and embryologist at the Fertility Center partnered with leading experts in oocyte cryopreservation who fine-tuned the freezing process. Now the Fertility Center has confirmation in its own Chattanooga lab for freezing eggs before fertilizing with sperm. As needed, the eggs are thawed and fertilized to create embryos that are then transferred to the uterus for a pregnancy attempt. With this method, fewer extra embryos are created or need to be stored. More and more patients are favoring this option that avoids some of the ethical dilemmas surrounding frozen embryos.”
